Bird flu alert in Rajasthan, Animal Husbandry Minister calls emergency meeting to control the situation.


Bird flu cases in Rajasthan are increasing day by day which led authorities to announce a bird flu alert in the state. After the confirmation of virus, authorities are considering this as a very serious matter. The dreaded virus was confirmed in dead crows in the Jhalawar district and many other cities, including Jaipur and many important cities of Rajasthan.

It started on December 25 in Jhalawar. Most of the cases have been reported among crows, with most of them from Kota and Jodhpur. After that, the samples were sent to National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases Bhopal where the virus was detected. 


In concern to this, Animal Husbandry Minister Lalchand Kataria called an urgent meeting to make everyone alert of the situation and to take required action as soon as possible. He said that it is very serious matter and we can’t ignore it. That is why an urgent meeting of concerned officials has been called. He ensured that he and his team is monitoring and treating this issue on priority. He also informed that they are in contact with the Forest Department and the administration is on high alert.

Kunjilal Meena, State Principal Secretary, Rajasthan, informed that in order to control the situation, a response team has been formed which will work in various areas and report them the current situation. He added that it is very important to make people aware about it. That is why, pamphlet and posters will be put up to spread awareness among people. He also requested people to understand the situation and help them with their support.
